📝 Lexington Park Playground Review

My 4-year-old was obsessed with the long twisty net climber. It’s a horizontal structure that twirls and twists, and she loved crawling across it and figuring out her path. She also had a blast balancing on the orange beam with me holding her steady, of course.

Both kids (2- and 4-year old) mostly stayed on the smaller play structure, which still had a slide and its own twisty net climber.

The merry-go-round spinner was a favorite. They kept yelling at me to “spin faster!” and we spent a good chunk of time on the multiuser swing too.

There isn’t a huge variety of playground equipment, but the climbing and spinning elements are pretty unique, especially the twisty net designs you don’t see at every park. That alone kept them entertained longer than I expected.

It also felt spacious and not too crowded, even with people out walking the track and using the soccer fields.

And a huge plus: the bathrooms were actually clean and had a changing table, which isn’t something I take for granted at parks.

🎠 Playground Features

  • Two separate play structures – one for younger kids and one for older kids
  • Slides on both structures
  • Long twisty net climber – a horizontal rope structure included on both play areas
  • Merry-go-round spinner
  • Stand-and-spin
  • Multiuser swing
  • Rope ladders on the big kid structure
  • Rubber flooring throughout the play area

👶 Toddler-Friendly?

Yes! The smaller structure has easy steps that go to a small slide and the twisty net climber is lower to the ground, and the rubber ground makes it feel safe for younger ones who still trip a lot.

The multiuser swing and merry-go-round spinner were especially great for their age (and any age), and I liked that the whole area felt spacious so they weren’t constantly bumping into other kids.

Plus, the playground shade and on-site bathrooms make it super parent-friendly too.

🚻 Bathrooms

Yes — real bathrooms with a changing table.

This might sound like a small thing, but clean bathrooms at a park feel like winning the lottery. These were nicer than most park restrooms I’ve used, and the changing table makes it easier if you’ve got a baby or toddler still in diapers.

☀️ Shade

  • Most of the playground is shaded
  • Covered picnic tables right next to the play area
  • ✅ Great spot for snacks or a lunch break without sitting in direct sun
  • Multiuser swing and merry-go-round spinner are not shaded

🧺 Picnic Tables

  • Two covered picnic shelters right next to the playground (plus more around the park)
  • Each shelter has a BBQ grill
  • Additional uncovered picnic tables nearby
  • Great for snacks and picnic meals

🧱 Ground Surface

Rubber surfacing throughout the entire playground

🚧 Enclosed / Fenced In?

Open. Not fenced in, but the park is spacious and has clear sightlines and set far back enough from the parking lot if you have a runner.

🚗 Parking

  • Free parking lots with plenty of space (choose the spots closer to the playground)
  • EV charging stations available in the lot
  • Easy walk from the lot to the playground with a stroller

🧃 Other Amenities

  • Full court basketball court (we saw someone playing pickleball there too)
  • Turf and grass soccer fields
  • Running track around the turf field
  • Fitness equipment behind each soccer field (note: kids under 14 are not allowed to use it)
  • Water fountain near the bathrooms
  • Dog-friendly

🧠 Tips for Visiting with Kids

  • Bring snacks and water
  • Pack a hat and sunblock if you’re going midday
  • Go in the morning or late afternoon if you want to avoid the sun on the uncovered areas
  • The rubber surface is great, but closed-toe shoes help with climbing and balance, especially since there’s a lot of ropes

🥪 Nearby Food & Coffee

  • Simit & Poacha Cafe: Turkish-style coffee and pastries, casual and stroller-friendly
  • 7 Leaves Cafe (Cypress): Quick drinks and snacks, located nearby on Valley View
  • Katella Deli: Sit-down restaurant with kid-friendly options just a few minutes away
  • Or bring your own lunch and eat at the covered picnic tables
