No more digging through a bottomless pit. Every pocket has a purpose, and everything I need (wipes, snacks, toys, extra socks) actually stays where I put it. It’s the closest thing to chaos-free I’ve ever felt with two kids.

Each outside main pocket has 2 zippers, and each main pocket has small zippered pocket and 2 mesh pockets for smaller items (I hide some lollipops in the small zippered pockets, so my daughter doesn’t see it). A smaller, more practical size for everyday life
Let me be honest: I loved the Tobiq 30L Duffel when we traveled through Vietnam with two toddlers. It was perfect for long haul flights and travel days—but it was overkill for regular life.

Cons: What I Didn’t Love About the Tobiq Baby Bag
No insulated pocket for milk bottles
This wasn’t a dealbreaker for me, since I mostly breastfed whenever I was out with my baby or toddler.
But for parents who need to carry cold breast milk, this could be a downside—especially during that first year or so when you’re regularly bringing milk bottles on the go.
That said, one easy workaround is to tuck a Momcozy Portable Breast Milk Cooler or YOUSHARES Breastmilk Cooler with Thermometer into one of the main pockets. They fit easily and keep milk cold for hours. (I don’t have these items, so I tried to photograph the bag with a 40oz Hydroflask and snack cooler to help visualize this.)
I wish it had a second side pocket for more water bottles
There’s just one water bottle pocket—and while it fits a large bottle, I really wish it had a second one on the other side like most other diaper bags.
Having a spot for my water, one for the kids, one for each of them, or just more water for the whole family would make long days out so much easier, especially in the Southern California heat.
All one color makes it harder to find things
I also own the Tobiq 30L Colorado, which has different color pockets, and let me tell you, different colors make a huge difference when organizing!
I could say, “Snacks are in the orange pocket!” and even my husband could find them. With the baby bag, it’s all one color, and I’ve definitely opened the wrong pocket while it’s lying sideways more than once.
It’s a small thing, but when you’ve got a screaming toddler and one hand free, knowing where stuff is matters.
A perfect workaround for this is to use their colored zipper pulls, so each pocket has a different colored zipper! (Fingers crossed they release a multi-color version soon.)
How I Pack the Tobiq Baby Bag as a Diaper Bag
The 3 Main Pockets: Snacks, Toys, Clothes
I use the three main pockets like built-in packing cubes:
- Pocket 1: Snacks for toddlers or milk for babies (or both!): This is the “feed them before they lose it” pocket. I always keep it stocked with quick-grab snacks for my toddler. If you’re packing milk bottles, you can use the Momcozy Portable Breast Milk Cooler or the YOUSHARES Breastmilk Cooler with Thermometer—both fit easily inside. For young toddlers, I also toss in a waterproof bib to make cleanup less of a disaster.
- Pocket 2: Toys and Entertainment: I keep this stocked with lightweight distractions—small books, fidget toys, or sticker pads—for restaurants, waiting areas, or airport gates.
- Pocket 3: Backup Clothes: This one’s for the “just in case” changes: extra clothes for each kid for the spills and messes that are inevitable.
The Back Pocket: Diapers & Wipes
This is my go-to spot for essentials I need to grab fast.
- I stand diapers and wipes upright in the two mesh pockets, which makes it easy to do a quick inventory before we head out.
- I’ll also slide in a coloring book or tablet if I know we’ll be waiting somewhere.
- You can also put a diaper changing mat here (though I personally don’t).
- If I’m working or bringing my laptop, the padded sleeve in this pocket keeps it secure.
The Side Pocket: Water Bottle
There’s just one side pocket, and it fits one water bottle—either a kid-size one or even my husband’s 40 oz Hydroflask beast. It’s versatile.
I do wish there was a second side pocket on the other side.
Alternative Packing Methods: Not Just a Diaper Bag
How I use it as my work bag
I work remotely and head to a coffee shop most weekdays to get things done—and this is the bag I bring.
- Laptop in the padded sleeve in the back pocket (Warning: My 13.5″ laptop is close to the edge already, so I don’t think a laptop 15″ or more would fit well in this padded sleeve. It’s probably intended more for tablets and iPads.)
- Electronics (charger, mouse, and headphones) in bottom main pocket
- Notebook in one main pocket and pens tucked into inner zipped compartment of that middle main pocket and pads in mesh sleeves
- Snacks in top main pocket for me — because sometimes I forget about feeding myself when I’m trying to get the kids out the door
- Phone and keys in the small top zip pocket for easy grab-and-go access
It’s the one bag that works whether I’m juggling kids, work, or both.

This bag is versatile enough to grow with your family. Once we’re out of the diaper stage, I can easily repurpose the pockets to fit whatever we’re doing—whether it’s a a beach outing, a hike, or a work café run.

Most diaper bags feel like one big compartment, and I end up digging around just to find a wipe or a bib or a sock.
