📝 Ponderosa Park Playground Review
We first discovered this park thanks to a toddler soccer class through Soccer Shots. After each session, my daughter (age 3 at the time) had to go play—and it quickly became one of our regular stops.
The toddler play area includes a cute little playhouse, small slides, and musical elements like drums and chimes. There’s also an inclusive spinner and a summer splash pad that add variety and make this a spot we return to often.
For older kids, there are taller slides, net climbers, and monkey bars—fun features that challenge more confident climbers. These aren’t necessarily grouped on a separate “big kid” structure, but they’re easy to spot.
The whole park has a friendly neighborhood vibe, with brightly colored equipment and a layout that makes it easy to keep eyes on your kids. And with so many community resources nearby—like the Ponderosa Library, Family Resource Center, fitness zone, and even a skate park.
One thing to note: there’s no shade over the play area, so it can get pretty hot—especially midday. Bring water, snacks, and sun protection if you’re visiting when the sun’s out. Luckily, there’s a shaded picnic shelter nearby where you can cool off and take breaks.
