📝 Citrus Park Review

Citrus Park in Anaheim is a cheerful neighborhood playground that feels like a hidden gem. I loved that they included signs in different languages — Spanish, braille, and even sign language — which made it feel thoughtful and inclusive.

The structure itself is bright and inviting, with plenty of little sensory features. My kids especially loved the mirrors and spinning objects — great for imaginative play and also perfect for hide-and-seek (a current favorite for my 4-year-old). Even though the sign says the playground is for ages 5–12, my 2-year-old had no trouble climbing, spinning, and sliding right alongside her big sister.

While there’s no bathroom or shade over the playground, there is a large covered gazebo nearby. We kept our visit short since it was sunny, but it’s a great spot if you’re already planning to be in the area — especially with some food or coffee nearby.

🎠 Playground Features

  • Open slides
  • Climbers
  • Merry-go-round net climber
  • Sway glider
  • Musical instruments
  • Monkey bars
  • Sensory and activity panels + mirrors
  • No separate toddler structure, but toddler-friendly layout

👶 Toddler-Friendly?

Yes. Despite the posted age range, my 2-year-old had no issues here. There are plenty of low steps, sensory elements, and accessible features for toddlers — we just stayed close since it’s not fenced.

🚧 Enclosed / Fenced In?

No — the playground is open with no fence, and one side is near the parking lot.

🚻 Bathrooms

❌ None
There are no restrooms or porta-potties on site. Plan a bathroom stop before or after your visit.

☀️ Shade

✅ Large picnic shelter nearby
🌳 Some trees along the edges, but no shade directly over the play structure
It’s best to visit in the morning or later in the afternoon, especially on hot days.

🧺 Picnic Tables

✅ Yes — shaded under the picnic shelter
A good spot for a snack break or packed lunch, even though reservations aren’t available.

🚗 Parking

✅ Free parking lot
✅ Free street parking
Easy access from either the lot or street, and stroller-friendly.

🧃 Other Amenities

  • Basketball court
  • Large shaded gazebo (not reservable)
  • Water fountain near the basketball court

🧠 Tips for Visiting Citrus Park with Kids

  • Bring snacks and water, even for short visits
  • Pack a hat and sunblock if you’re going mid-day — Southern California is usually sunny
  • There’s no playground shade here, so on hot days (especially during summer), it’s best to go in the morning or late afternoon
  • Wear closed-toed shoes — the wood chips can be uneven in spots, and it’s just easier for little feet to run and climb that way

🥪 Nearby Food & Coffee

  • Thank You Coffee Anaheim: a short drive away, with great coffee and baked goods
  • Anaheim Packing House: family-friendly food hall with tons of fun options
This park makes a nice stop before or after a quick bite or treat nearby.
